Steve BourneSteve Bourne

Steve was 4yrs old when he started on Cornet, taught by his late Father, went onto playing Clarinet.EEb Tuba. He went onto the School of Music and passed exams in music, teaching, and conducting. He also has conducted full orchestras / Concert Bands. Steve has deputed for many bands also recording as a brass package for films/albums etc: playing Trumpet which is his main instrument now. At present plays for a Ska/Reggae band The Reggaskas, Blues Brothers Tribute band, The Blues Brothers Collective, The DSFRS Corp of Drums, and The Silver Trumpets so is kept very active

Pete is one of the founder members of The Silver Trumpets , he also is a active member of DSFRS Corps of Drums.

John FisherJohn Fisher

John started playing Bugle at the age of eleven as a member of the Exeter Boys Brigade. At aged 15yrs he joined the Army and did not play again till he was 40yrs by then he was a Police officer also became an instructor for 2nd Newton Abbot Boys Brigade Company. He had always wanted to become a side drum player so joined the Devon and Cornwall Constabulary Corps of Drums using their skills and expertise he was able to pass this onto the boys & girls staying with them for several years until being posted to Ashburton where he formed the 1st Ashburton Company starting a band, in 2004 the Police band was disbanded so in the next few years playing for his own enjoyment and the last post at funerals, Remembrance Ceremonies also learned to play the Fife, he then in 2017 joined DSFRS Corps of Drums which he is an active member, he always wanted to learn to play the Eb Cavalry Trumpet and when the chance came around he took it and is an active member of The Silver Trumpets, John is a member of the Plymouth Branch Royal Tank Regiment Association and is their Branch Bugler.

Alan LeighAlan Leigh

Alan, was anchorage to play from his father who played for a jazz band during the war, he started on Piano and sax then went onto guitar playing in a local ban Called Local Beat, from there went onto joining Devon and Cornwall Constabulary and the Police band Corps of drums performing all over the world .in 2004 the Police band was axed he then joined DSFRS Corps of Drums plus assisting South Wales Police band & Wessex Military Band Drum Corps with Military Tattoos, also events throughout Europe, and most recently has joined The Silver Trumpets.

Ethan ValerioEthan Valerio

Ethan plays for DSFRS Corps of Drums and has recently joined The Silver Trumpets on Drums, Bugle, and Fanfare trumpets.

Mike OwenMike Owen

Mike was taught to play trumpet with his school band in the 70s, from there he enlisted into the Army and joined the Duke of Edinburgh Royal Regiment band.in 83 he left the service and went onto join the TA band playing the French horn.

He gave up music for approx. 10yrs then bumped into an old band friend who asked him if he would like to join the DSFRS Concert band on French horn also played for Exmouth Town band then after 22yrs, he then went on to join Royal Airforce Association Band playing trumpet, also playing trumpet for Tiverton Town band, Classic Breeze band Conducted by David Bourne which encouraged him to do a course in conducting, then he join The Silver Trumpets.

David is our eldest member. plays Trombone for many bands over the years

Kay SpencerKay Spencer

Kay Is our latest member. She started playing in 1977 with the Darlington youth band and went onto the Royal school of music 78-81. Played the last post for the Royal Scotts Dragoon Guards, joined up with Cockerton Silver Band playing flugelhorn who was the finalist at the brass band championship at The Royal Albert Hall. Then came down to Devon and joined the Torbay Brass Band for 6yrs. Played trumpet for 6th Rifles regiment, Royal Navy Band, and DSFRS Concert band. Now a member of The Silver Trumpets who we are sure will be a great asset to the team.
